What are the best practices for my profile?
Having a complete profile allows us to match you with the right opportunities for your experience and interests.
Some best practices for creating your NotedSource profile:
- Link your ORCID or Google Scholar to easily input relevant educational information, publications, and experience.
- Education: Add relevant educational experiences, degrees, and areas of specialization, especially advanced degrees in your field of expertise.
- Experience: Add relevant academic and industry experience in terms of employer, position, and include the dates of employment.
- Publications: Add publications and update citations lists. If you've connected your profile in multiple ways (i.e., via both ORCID and Google Scholar), check for and remove any duplicate publications. Our system attempts to remove duplicates but sometimes those systems have papers using different identifiers.
- Research Areas: Add relevant research areas and ensure irrelevant research areas have not been added from your publications.
- Links and Social Media: If you maintain an active social media presence with content that is relevant to your field of expertise, you can add your social media handles, blog posts or links to a departmental web site.
- Languages: By including any languages (and the level of proficiency) you open yourself up to worldwide collaborations.
